On Saturday the Bishopscourt Karting Club (BKC) hosted Round 3 of the NIKA Karting Championship and Round 5 of the Superkart Championship. While there was concern over the numbers and viability of running these events, today saw 14 Superkart drivers and 26 short course drivers out on the circuit and the club was very grateful of all who attended but NIKA really need more drivers to support the different clubs across the province.
Once again we were blessed with fine sunny weather which lead to some very close racing across the different categories, but it did put a lot of stress on the limited supply of tires. Unfortunately, I missed the finals due to other commitments but well done to all those that placed.
A big thanks to all the officials, marshals, medics and support crews, with a special shout out to the ladies who provided the sandwiches and the crew who went off site to get some fish and chips when the Food Van failed to turn up.
